Maximum bitterness

what is the maximum bitterness that can be attained in a beer? Just thinking of this since I had a DFH 120 tonight and although they claim 100+ IBU, I think it could definately use more bitterness to balance the 1 ton grain bill.

As a side note, I think DFH 120 is really more of a barely wine than a IIPA.

I've become a hop head and it's starting to get pretty bad.
 
The standard quote you will see is around 100IBUs. I'd expect its somewhere in that range. Most calculators will go well above that. Any beer labeled with over 100IBUs is really just advertising that they use a ****load of hops.
