Old dog and new tricks

Ok, so I washed and harvested some yeast, first time I've tried it. Figured I better do a starter (another first) since I'm making the Poor Richard's Ale, lots of corn. 3 cups of water, 1/2 cup DME in a half gallon growler.

Blowout! All over the counter and floor.

I've seen this mentioned many times, just how do you wash and harvest some yeast?

Try here ...third post down. Or you can try this: yeast washing from wyeast, but that one seems a bit much to me.
