At times it's really weighed on me a ton.
I stuggle sometime to understand the riddle,
and wonder if my mind is able

I have no idea.... I didn't see that clue. This one helped me:
I'll offer this clue to see IT in your eye - I thought that was "twinkle"
and on a certain summer night ITs is in the sky - At first I thought stars.... but then I read A CERTAIN.... which I took to mean SINGLE night... so I thought what happens in the sky on one night during the summer? 4th of July... Fireworks
So I was left with Twinkle, Fireworks..... a twinkling firework is a sparkler.... from there it was a hop, skip and jump to narrow it down.
I would never have come to the answer I did without the clue.....
