1 Oz birch bark makes?

Looking for a good birch beer recipe. I was thinking about adding birch bark to the 'Homebrew birch beer stuff' available to give it an extra birch flavor but not sure if that would be overkill or not.

Do I soak the bark in 200 proof for a few days/week and make a tincure or just use the bark 1 time? Its $5.00 for one ounce, so its a bit expensive for one shot at a batch. There is bark online in one ounce for


I think there is a business for black birch twigs in the home-brew community! It would be nice to have the real thing, fresh.
 
Birch bark is $8.00/lb at herbco.com. I guess it may not be black birch, but I'm sure it makes a tasty beverage. :)

You can make a tincture with plain ol' 80 proof vodka.
