Hi all,
Just wondering what settings most of you Brutus rig brewers are using on your Love/Auber controllers, specifically the hysteresis or dead band setting.
I'm using Auber SYL-1512A controllers with 3-wire RTDs on the MLT and HLT. My sensors are installed in T-fittings at the outputs of my pots. Yesterday I went out to my freezing 10 degree garage to do my first test run with just water and after calibrating the offsets with a Thermapen set each controller to 120 degrees to start. The burners fired just fine and after about 10 minutes I look over and my controller is reading 134 degrees! My dead band is set to .5 degrees is that way too tight or something? Also I had my pumps throttled about half way, how much does flow rate effect my ability to control mash and sparge temps?
Thanks for any input/advice in advance!
