I ordered all of my ingredients for my next couple of batches and I was supposed to have an oz of Magnum Hops for bittering and I seem to have forgotten to order them.

I have an oz of Simcoe that I'm not using in my freezer and I was wondering if I could just use that in place of the Magnum for bittering?

You can- but.

But.......they probably are different AAUs, and simcoe is such a special hop that I wouldn't use it if I could use something else.

If you have any other hops at all, I would choose them over the simcoe. If not, you can use the simcoe if it's an American APA/IPA/Amber, and you can get roughly the same IBUs from it.

Agree with Yooper. It'll work, but it be a shame to use Simcoe just for bittering.
