I got home today and my wyeast lambic yeast was partially frozen. It appears that the smaller pouch inside the larger one froze and may of burst into the larger pack. Here's the tricky part I am using the lambic yeast to add to the secondary to make a wild ale. Should I try to make a starter? thaw it out and see if it swells? Or just ditch it and buy a new pack? To add to this it was an expired pack that I got from my LHBS. Thanks as always for the help

Depending on how long ago it had expired you may not get much out of it aside from the Brett. Don't make a starter, if the bugs are still viable, you'll throw the mix out of proportion.

If it were me, I'd pitch it as is and either 1) go buy another smack pack and pitch it at the same time, or 2) buy a couple sours and pitch their dregs along with it.
