Hello,

I was looking into converting a 10 gal cooler to a mash tun and wanted to use a false bottom. I was going to probably go with "Jays false bottom" and I was wondering how exactly you would connect that or something similar to the ball valve? Are there specific fittings you need to have?

The false bottom doesn't actually connect to the ball valve. You'll need a siphon tube to go through the false bottom to the bottom of your cooler. I've used a false bottom, but with coolers, I prefer to use just a manifold instead.

I have my false bottom connected with a copper pickup tube:

I am not sure what suthrncomfrt1884 means by a siphon tube, but maybe it is similiar to mine.
