The recipe I am using says to put the raisins in the secondary and fit a fermentation trap to the vessel.
I am using a one gallon wine jug... but slowly the raisins keep floating and gathering at the top, where there was an inch of airspace as specified.
Then shortly after must starts to seep into the airlock. Would I reduce the airspace several inches? Or some other trick?

Yeah, just increase the head-space. Soon most of the raisins will sink and won't cause a problem. Then top off later.
