i am getting ready for my first brew and was wondering if i could use my coldplate from my jockey box to chill my wort instead of making an ic

thanks
mark

Sure... just plumb your beer through the cold plate, add ice, and presto! Do you have a pump? or would you have to gravity feed, and allow to flow again and again until temp drops. You will probably use more ice than you think. Watch your sanitation too!

gravity is all i have for now. do you think just puting the cold plate in the brew kettle and running ice water through that would be a good idea. deffinately sanitizing the outside of the cold plate if thats the case
