so, i have a question on building a hop stopper vs. using a domed false bottom in my brew pot. the pot i have is 9 gallons with a ball valve (viewed here). i use good ol' gravity to feed my counterflow chiller. during my last brew, i had a little slow down issue because of some pellet hops that had broken down and they got lodged in the chiller.

my question is which would be the most economical / most efficient, a domed false bottom where the siphon goes through the hole in the center of the bottom. or, do i concoct a hop stopper thing like bobby m and run the siphon through it?

here are some setups that i'm looking at:

i'd appreciate any input.

I've tried a lot of different hop separation methods and decided none of them are perfect. Some are more suited for pellets and others for whole hops. Luckily for you a CFC doesn't need ultra-fine straining. Do you use more pellets or leaf?

i've used pellet hops mostly, but there have been a couple batches w/ leaf hops at the end of the boil.
