Hello,

I'm currently setting up my new single tier, three kettle all electric system, and I’m using two SS Center Inlet chugger pumps. A brewer in my club told me that the way he has his pumps setup with his plumbing is that one pump only touches water and the other pump only touches the wort. In general is this a good practice to follow, or does it really matter? How do the rest of you use your pumps with a similar setup?

Thanks.

That is what I do. The reason being is that I only have to remove 1 pump head(wort pump) every 5 or 6 brews to clean thoroughly. I still run a few gallons of hot water through the wort pump at the end of every brew though.
