Here's a partial mash recipe (5 gallon batch) I concocted. I appreciate any feedback - positive or negative. I am contemplating adding honey malt (1 lb) and also either maple syrup or maple extract. Do you think this would be overkill?
Grains to be steeped at 155 degrees F for 30 min then sparged with water at 170 degrees:
Crystal Malt 80L 1 lb
CaraPils (dextrine malt) 0.5 lb
Aromatic malt 0.5 lb
Chocolate malt 4 oz
Roasted barley 4 oz
?Honey malt 1 lb
Malt extracts:
Munton's Amber LME 6.6 lb
Carlson's Sparkling Amber DME 0.5 lb
Carlson's Traditional Dark DME 0.25 lb
Hops:
Target 1.5 oz - 60 min
Willamette 0.5 oz - 20 min
Fuggles 0.5 oz - 0 min
Additional:
Irish moss 1 tsp - 15 min
?Maple syrup or extract added to secondary
Yeast:
Wyeast 1084 (Irish Ale)
