In the south, it's hot as crap and humid from April to September. So, I'm creating a good summer beer that highlights some of my Southern roots. Here's the idea that I threw together while ignoring the in-laws tonight:
4.25 lbs extra light DME
1 lb grits (have to cereal mash this one)
8 oz Vienna malt
4 oz biscuit malt
4 oz cara-pils/dextrine malt
.75 oz Centennial hops (60 mins)
.5 oz Cascade hops (20 mins)
.5 oz Cascade hops (5 mins)
Notthingham yeast
According to Brewtarget, this will give me an OG of 1.049 and an FG of 1.010, for ~5% ABV and a "balanced" flavor.
Now, let the ideas and criticisms come in. It will be a couple months before I brew this anyway, so no worries.
