Hi everyone. I would like some input on something. I'm looking to make this recipe and would like to know if I can substitute lager yeast for ale yeast, and what kind would you recommend? Its going to be for a 5 gal batch of extract Yeungling clone. Here is the recipe:

Extract:
1lb Carapils
1/2lb Crystal (60L)
Steep at 152°F for 30 minutes
Boil
6.6lbs of Briess Golden Light Liquid Extract
1/2oz Cascade 60 Minutes
1/2oz Cluster last 10 minutes
Wyeast 2035 American Lager or if you can not true lager 2112 California Lager

Thanks in advanced.

you could use whatever yeast you like, but it will taste different.

Lager yeasts have a very distinctive taste IMO, though both you list are technically lager yeasts, its just that the cal lager is used for steam beers

Provided you can actually ferment at lager temps either yeast will work, but personally I would lean toward 2035
