Hey all. So I've had some oak chips sitting in 12 year old rum for like 5 or 6 months. I was going to take another stab at a Pirate Porter, but I was wondering if you had any more creative ideas. :)

A dry Irish Stout perhaps? An oatmeal stout? Maybe the semi-sweetness of an oatmeal would contrast nicely with the harsher rum spices and oak? Russian Imperial Stout maybe?

Let's hear it!

had it 4 hours, and sorry I edited. You called me out.

Direct hit.

RUM SOAKED CHIPS???????

The auto-correct in my eyes failed me.

Damn.....

In that case, An oaked pale ale........with rum notes......and a mild hop profile.

I think rum soaked chips might be fantastic in a RIS, probably want a very ample portion of roast barley.
