Probably not news to anyone, but I thought I would throw this out there.
Whole Foods sells pasteurized, unfiltered, organic apple juice (2 types) for $5.99 a gallon. The best part is that it comes in 1 gallon glass bottles that are great for starters and small batches. My LHBS sells these gallon bottles for $4.35, so for $1.65 more I get a fermentable liquid.
The local supermarkets sell the same type of apple juice for the same price in plastic containers or in glass for about $12.00 a gallon.
