First off I must tell you this is my first non-beer or cider.
I started this batch on 6-27-09

1gal
0.50 tsp Yeast Nutrient
1 lbs 7.5 oz Agave Nectar, Light
11.5 oz Agave Nectar, Amber
8.0 oz Maple Agave Nectar (Trader Joe's)
2.0 oz Honey
1 Pkgs Montrachet (Red Star)
OG 1.074

I racked to secondary yesterday on top of the 11.5oz of Amber.
My question is after a month my garvity only dropped to 1.042.
Is this normal for a mead? should i be worried?
I have a packet of K1-V1116 should i toss that in???

Thanks

well, this is not a mead. 2 oz of honey in 1 gallon is less than 50% fermentables from honey.
its some kind of agave wine.

I think your yeast is tired because it didn't have enough nitrogen (i.e. yeast energizer)

in case anyone was interested.... i added an additional 1tsp of nutrient and aerated. Hopefully this will kick things in gear. if not then i will repitch.

I'm excited about this, last sample was excellent.
