Ice bucket for fermenter

So I am using a giant plastic bucket I got at target to ice bath my fermenter.. which is going amazing, but I was using wet t-shirts over the bucket to retain moisture and keep the temperature level and cold. The only issue is that the t-shirts started to put off a strange smell because well they are old wet t-shirts lol. Being that the setup is in my apartments hallway closet it is not ideal. I was hoping someone could help me figure something out. thanks

i put my fermenters in a large icewater bucket, and don't cover them. i just change the ice bottles out every few hours
