I ran into this article on the results of a research team's efforts to find the origins of lager yeast and I decided to share it. It's part history, part genetic sleuthing, and results you can taste. I love this stuff.

It's amazing how many of the things I love originated in the Americas (peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, beans, corn, bourbon, more peppers, and now lager yeast!)
