After much reading I've decided I'd rather someone with some real know how(and tools) build me a control panel.
I'd like it to have the following:
30a power source (3 prong)
a place to plug up a pump and a switch for that pump
a slot for a 5500w element to plug in and a switch to that element
PID to control that element
I really like Kal's thermocouples, so I'd like the thermocouple connection to be that music cord plug thing like his.
and all the other do-dads and what-nots

I'd like the PID to be programmed if possible. I'll be using the panel for 1 kettle to control HLT/BK.
I'd also like to get a hot tub GFCI box(wired for this setup), I'm not confident enough to try to install one into my breaker (plus I rent so I'm pretty sure its against lease rules)
Feel free to email we and we'll work something out @ [email protected]

or if someone wants to slap together a nice step by step instruction(with drawings and such) I'd pay a bit for that as well

You know that Kai sells the controll box as a DIY kit or fully assembled right?

course I've drooled over it on multiple occasions, but $1400 is steep, especially since my needs are significantly simpler. I spend a ton of time on that site but I don't understand what each and every wire does well enough to start pulling out components to meet my needs.

I don't want to be negative, but referencing the Electric Brewing sub-forum you should be able to find a solution the meets your needs. You might even want to check out my thread for a simple solution. Half the fun is building your own control panel from the ground up. Also I think many would want to avoid selling an item that carries 220v/30a service without being a certified electrician. The last thing I want to do is burn down someone's house with an electrical fire.
