Mark your calendars and find baby sitters for Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th from 5-11 is Bruegala 2011 at the Bloomington Center of Performing Arts
Bruegala is a charity beer and wine tasting event put on by the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees in its 12th year. Not only do you get to try great craft and home-brewed beers, but you also get to drink for a good cause. This year, we are donating proceeds to the March of Dimes, Autism Society of Mclean County, Operation Santa, Blooming Grove Academy, Midwest Food Bank, and the UNITY community center.
We have teamed up this year with the Bloomington Center of Performing Arts Summer Concert Series to bring not only good beer, but great tunes as well. Each night there will be two local bands opening and a headliner local artists include: Dirty Hands Band and Marcos Mendez, Two Dollar Ransom, The Dan Hubbard Band, and Blackwater FOE; headliners: Anders Osborne, and Amanda Shaw and the Cute Guys.
Entry to the event is $15 and beer tickets are sold in packages starting at $5.
HOWEVER!
If you want to get into the event, get a sampling glass and be encouraged to know about the beers you are serving *hint hint* ALL FOR FREE, you can donate two hours (or more, if you want) of your time to pouring beer and punching beer tickets. Its a pretty easy gig for what you get out of it. Volunteer hours that are available are: Friday 9-11 and Saturday 5-7; 7-9; and 9-11 and there will be a 30 minute orientation prior to your shift. If you take a late shift, you can come early and still get in free to check out the event prior to pouring. send an e-mail to [email protected] to sign up or if you have any additional questions.
Thanks,
~Seth
