I have two 10 gallon soda kegs that I plan on using to carbonate and dispense my finely brewed libations. I am only brewing 5 gallon batches at this time. Is the excess head space something of concern?

It'll be fine. Where do you get those 10 gallon kegs? Do they have corny style connections?

only down side will be using more co2 than you would have with a 5 gallon keg. shouldn't be too too bad.
