how do you fill a keg? How much cash does it usually take to get started?

What type of keg you talking about here?

Either way, you'll need a Co2 tank and regulator, plus a few kegs. Corny's can be had for about $25 each and they hold 5 gallons.

I'd say figure $200 to get into it. that's assuming a new regulator, CO2 tank, and a couple used corny kegs, and basic picnic taps.

Then you gotta chill those kegs some how...

Expect to spend a good few hundred bucks

CO2 tank- $50ish
Regultor- $50ish
couple of corneys-$50ish
temp controller - $50ish
Gas manifold (if hooking up more than one keg, which you probably will)$40ish
Quick Disconnects, gas line, beer line, picnic taps- $30ish
Fridge, Freezer-$150ish

This puts you over $400 and really isn't going to include shipping and whatnot. Kegging is not cheap. However, it is easy to do, and it is great having beer on draft.

WARNING: Do NOT let the SWMBO see this list. Chipping away at it is the best way to not raise suspicions. :D
