Got my new Blichmann Burner with leg extensions today and had to share it with someone. I am brewing 10 gals of Oatmeal Stout on Sunday. Will post a small review after using this for those who are interested. I have actually had dreams about this burner!

I use mine with either my 10 gallon BoilerMaker kettle or 1/2 keg mash tun... I have another, without the extensions, that I use to heat my sparge water with. The burners are EXCELLENT performers, easily out pacing the KAB4 burner I was using before. They also use less gas and get to the desired temperatures faster. :rockin:

With how much gas I was going through before, I'm loving it... I use one tank to heat the mash water (in the keg mash tun) as well as getting the final wort volume to a boil. The other tank is used to heat the sparge water (in a thin 10 gallon kettle). I believe I've gotten 3-5 batches with these tanks so far. I'm planning on getting a spare tank and having it ready for when one of them kicks. Seriously thinking about getting a 30# tank for this one. That way, I'll need to fill it even less often. :rockin:

GKal,
I'm just down the road from you.
Alright if I stop by and just bask in the aura of this setup?

Would the 3rd Blichmann porn pic be considered full frontal nudity?

Hey Day Trippr, how has that burner worked for you? Do you use less fuel?

I have two of them and I love 'em! They're very quiet, the flame pattern is broad, uniform, and produces a beautifully clean burn on propane. They're also easy to control using the provided adjustable regs, and as best as I can tell they're very efficient, probably due to all the aforementioned traits. And as I'm sensitive to chemical fumes I really appreciate the stainless assembly.

I definitely would recommend them, though one could surely cobble together a functional equivalent (save for the stainless aspect) from components obtained from places like agrisupply.com, for some cost savings...

Cheers!
