I have repitched the same batch of Wyeast 1084 at least 80 times since 2004. There is no lag or attenuation change. It just keeps going and going....
Is anybody else doing the same?

80 times! You must have mutant turtles in there by now... :)

I really enjoyed the turtle thing:D Clever!!! Yeast has been alive on earth about a billion years. I don't think I changed it much in the last five. My Beer has been great. No off flavors, just awesome beer. I expected a dropoff in my yeast but it has never happened. I will repitch until I see a change. Miller Brewing in Milwaukee brews 24/7. How many times do you think they repitch???

Keep posting. I have never heard of a homebrewer re-using 80 times. Someone like Stella Artois has a laboratory to stay on top of mutations. Sometimes a mutation can be good but they usually are not.

I will be re pitching 1084 as I really love this yeast. I harvested a bunch from my starter recently. Don't know if I have the guts to go 80 batches, but I'll try to hit 10.
