I have been wanting to do some cider for a while, and finally had some time today. I have done this recipe before and gives good results after a few months of aging.

what I did:

19 Cans of 1 L Allan's Apple Juice
1 cup of white sugar
Champagne yeast
1 Campdan tab

Start Gravity was 1.50, which should give me about 6.5%

Nothing too fancy.

I am thinking I will bottle half the batch and carbonate, and the other half I might back sweeten with splenda and/or ad some sort of fruit juice or spices.

The last batch of cider i did was this minus the sugar and using ale yeast, didnt get gravity readings, but that turned out real well.

The more time the better, so i plan to age this until the summer

interesting. Personally as much as I would like to find pressed cider, its too expensive. Im sure you can get a better product, but part of the reason I like cider this way is because its cheap.

In regards to years, I will take that info to mind for the next batch :)

I use the campdem tab just to be safe. I bought 1 litre cans for 1 dollar. On sale from 1.80. Not bad. It says its not from concentrate with no additives.
