Potassium carbonate?

Would it be feasable to use potassium carbonate (K2CO3) to modify brewing water?

I think the recommended daily intake of K is somewhere between 4-5 grams a day.
 
No problems with it that I am aware of. It will be highly alkaline (as is sodium carbonate). Potassium bicarbonate could be used as well. Now neither sodium bicarbonate nor sodium carbonate should be used in the treatment of brewing water except in special cases and the same comments would apply to the potassium salts.
 
Malt provides potassium and modifying the brewing water with K2CO3 could be an acceptable alternative for alkalinity addition. But the need to avoid excessive K or alkalinity in brewing water is a good goal as AJ mentions.

I would more strongly recommend going with pickling lime for alkalinity additions in brewing water. You avoid K and add Ca. It does require very careful dosing though.
