Hi all. I've been lurking for a while. I'm sad to find out the diffrent homebrew groups seem to have disbanded around my area.

I work in La Mirada (Los Angeles County) and live in Santa Ana, near Costa Mesa.

I've only brewed two Extract Porter Kits but I recently have aquired a 12? Gllon kettle!! and plan on All grain kits.

Does anyone need any 15-gallon plastic food safe fermenters? I have several.

Welcome aboard from a neighbor to the north, you've stumbled into a great homebrewing community! :mug:

Tell us more about the fermenters, sounds interesting.

Sad to hear. I wasn't brewing when I lived in Fullerton, although I know a couple people down there that were brewing as recently as 2004. You around South Coast Plaza, there was a store there.

Hey there neighbor. I live in Orange, and work in Santa Fe Springs (5 and valley view, basically in La Mirada).

thanks for the nice welcome!
The fermentors are for sale from a "Brew Beer in our store" place in Huntington Beach called Brew Bakers. They are west of Beach Blvd, south of the 405. They get all their Liquid Malt Extract in these large 15gal White or Blue plastic canisters. I'll try to post a picture later today. They are about as tall as a trash can, and about 2 feet wide or less. They have teo screw caps in the top. (They are closed- not buckets.. more like closed top drums with two holesin the top). Brew Bakers sells them for $5 each!

I shop at Stein Fillers in Long Beach. (It is pretty far, but their grain prices are good). My sister bought my equipment kit from Midwest Brewing. com

These are the fermenters I spoke of. I'd be happy to pick up some if anyone wants them and mail them to you.

Yes, these drums are food grade. Someone from Brew Bakers in Huntington Beach, ca mentioned they order Liquid Malt Extract in these plastic drums. They use the company California Concentrate:

It seems California Concentrate might be a good place to get Malts, as they note: "LIQUID MALT EXTRACTS

Dr. Michael Lewis, world renowned brewery specialist and author of many books on the subject of malts and extracts, had a major role in the design of the system that produceds California Concentrate's extracts. He, himself, proclaimed Alexander'sis to be "finest PALE MALT EXTRACT with the lightest color of any on the market today."

We use the most select malted barley, state of the art equipment, pure water, and absolutely no sugar additives. The result is a premium liquid malt extract. When compared to other brands on a per pound basis, we are always the better value. It is very uncommon today to not only get the least expensive, but the best. A wide variety of extracts, sold under the brand name of ALEXANDER'S SUN COUNTRY, are available through our distributors. All malt extracts are produced at 80 Brix.
Custom blends hand crafted to fit any need available."

I know it is an old post, but I have just moved to Fullerton, in the OC. Anyone still live here that brews?
