As I was putting my hops in the freezer. I accidentally put my Safale 05 dry yeast also in the freezer. They were in there a couple of weeks. My question is: is the yeast still good or can I hydrate them and still use them?

Freezing Yeast kills them as ice crystals form inside the cell and as ice is larger than the water used to form the ice it breaks the cell walls. So as there is no less water in dry yeast it might be OK. That said I would go get some more anyway.

Thanks. I think I will use them but have something for backup in case they don't take off.
