So I am having some problems getting a good grasp of what farmhouse yeast really is. I have been doing some research but cant find much, any advice?
It sounds like a saison yeast with bret
Wyeast*3726-PC Farmhouse Ale Yeast
Beer Styles: Saison, Biere de Garde, Belgian Blonde Ale, Belgian Pale Ale, Belgian Golden Strong Ale
Profile: This strain produces complex esters balanced with earthy/spicy notes. Slightly tart and dry with a peppery finish. A perfect strain for farmhouse ales and saisons.

That's what I understand it to be. I think it is usually brett C. I guess this is to make an american style farmhouse saison like the bruery's saison lente for example.
Wyeast makes no mention of bret in their Farmhouse Ale yeast.
