when adding to beersmith, I cant find this in the ingredients... am I missing it or is it called something else

What maltster? Dingeman's Cara 45 is a Caramunich malt, as is, of course, Weyermann CaraMunich I, which is somewhere around 39.
CaraMunich I doesn't seem to be in the database for some reason. Easy to add it though - just copy CaraMunich II and change the color.
