Hey everyone,
I just bottled my pilsner (3 weeks primary, 8 weeks secondary, 1 week in keg)yesterday. I force carbed my beer at about 45degF for 10 days at 28 PSI. I know that seems like overkill, but I've had past issues with carbonation, which occured again yesterday.
Here was how I did my carbonating:
At 45degF set to 28 PSI and run for 10 minutes and remove gas line.
I repeated this 3 more times in 3 day increments. (i.e. Day 1, 4, 7, 10)
I couldn't find any leaks on my keg that may have lead to the problem.
However, I did find a hissing noise coming from my high pressure regulator, which would get foggy and start perspiring.
Could this be responsible for my lack of carbonation?
I'm thinking about scraping my handmade dual regulator and dropping the $120 on a pre-fab dual regulator.
I probably only have 1.8-2 units of CO2 in my pilsner after bottling with my beergun.
