Most people do not figure in the bitterness of dry hop additions into the total IBU's. What they do add is massive amounts of aroma! :mug:

0 times ounces/gallons

Dry hopping does not add any bittering because the chemicals only dissolve near boiling.

Very complex formula:
(60 min hop IBU^2 + 50 min hops IBUs^3 + 40 min hop IBUs^4 + 30 min hop IBUs^5 + 20 min hop IBUs^6 + 10 min hop IBUs^7 + 5 min hop IBUs^8 + your height (in smoots)) x 0.

;)

I know this is an old thread, but...
Why does hopville.com add ibu's to the recipe for dry hopping? I just noticed that and thought it was very weird and counter-intuitive to the various articles that I've been reading.
