I've never been unhappy with any Amazon purchase, but there is a first time for everything... my Cajun Classic SQ14 showed up yesterday and it was immediately obvious that it was a repackaged unit. The box had been ripped and retaped. Inside was a mostly assembled unit, with a couple of loose pieces rolling around in the box and missing the heat shield that should have been between the burner and the frame. The missing heat shield isn't the end of the world because I was going to make a windshield that would also serve as a heat shield.
However, I'm not sure if the other problem is minor or not. The holes drilled in the propane burner are not perfect. One hole is not in the proper place (virtually missing the raised nub that it is supposed to be centered in) and another is double-drilled so you have a Figure "8" hole instead of a single hole.
I have no idea if this really matters (in practical terms) as I have not hooked it up to see how it burns. I've never returned anything to Amazon (and frankly, not sure of the procedure or if it involves any additional expense on my part). I'm not happy with getting an obviously returned and repackaged unit being sold as "new" (instead of in the Amazon "deals" section where one would expect such things).
What would you advise?
