hello this is my first post and i just brewed my first AG batch and have left it in the fermenter for 2 weeks, but i think it has an excesive amount of sediment.
the recipe is the mill run stout from John Palmer's how to brew but i scalled it down to one gallon.
can somebody give me some insight? is it normal?

I would bottle it and drink it. If it is bad you would taste it right away. You may have grinded your grain too fine, did a poor job lautering or did not whirlpool to coagulate the proteins after cooking. You should syphon the beer rather than pouring it. Leaving coagulated proteins behind. Do the same to remove your beer from your fermentor. Your headspace is too small. I bet you had beer foam in your air trap. cheers!
