Do you have any recommendation's for a simple, fast and free program to convert mpeg files to DVD?
I've got VSO but it does it slower than real time. Is that normal?
I have some VCDs that I'd like to put on DVD. With VSO it's going to take around 4 hours per film plus the DVD burn.

converting to DVD format takes a while, yes. Video and audio processing (decompression and recompression) is really CPU intensive.

Nero can convert .avi to DVD format. It took about 1 hour to convert a 700meg divx AVI file to DVD format. The actual burn took a couple minutes.
