When brewing 15 gal you would want 20 gal conicals or is 15 gal enough headspace for primary? Also, do ppl maybe ferment in a 20, then pump to a 15 to clarify? Any help would be great. Sorry if these questions are dumb...

Conicals are like any other fermenter in this regard - you'll need to take your recipe, yeast, and fermentation temperature into account and will need the same head space (and blowoff tubes) regardless of the shape of the fermentation vessel. That said, look carefully at the listings...many plastic induction tanks and such being put to use as fermenters can hold a volume larger than their listed capacities.
