Hi,
This is my first attempt, and I'm brewing a dry stout. I'm doing primary fermentation in bucket covered only by a towel. I'm planning on moving it to a carboy once the primary fermentation is done. Only thing is, I'm having trouble telling when it is done. It's been fermenting for about 5 days, and it looks like its going well. I'm gonna need to move it fast since theres no airlock on it. So, what should I look for to know when its done?

thanks, Charlie

hmmm...no airlock on it....why not. You are risking some serious contamination:eek:

If you are not using a airlock....well I do not know. Did you take a hydrometer reading for you OG. If so what is the reading now?
