Hello
Long time reader, first time poster.
I'm getting ready for an eBIAB build, wondering if anyone has successfully used a SCR for temperature control vs a PWM.
Specifically these two
http://www.ebay.com/itm/10000W-220v...H_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a27536d1b&afsrc=1
http://www.ebay.com/itm/170963748559?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&afsrc=1
I have seen many references to them, but no follow through to their actual usage. It seems this would be more cost effective vs the SSR + baktronics PWM board. A PID would be my ultimate goal, however to offset the initial cost and create a functioning unit earlier, I'm wondering if the SCR option has been proven in a build.
Thanks
