Today was my second brew. Brewed a Belgian Golden Ale. I thought I had a perfect brew until I just checked up on my carboy and noticed that I filled it up past the 5 gallon mark by about 3/4 of an inch. Don't know how that happened. Is my batch ruined?

No, it will be fine, but because u used up some of the head space in the carboy you may need to put on a blow off tube set up in case the krausen try's to escape the carboy.

Thanks guys, just pulled a gravity reading of 1.066- according to the recipe it should've been 1.071- 1.075. I'll be more careful next time.

One more question... Will I still hit within the specified FG on the kit recipe sheet?
