Pasteurizing a whole keg (3 gal)?

Need to get some cider finished quick, and I don't really feel like bottling it. Anyone see any reason why I can't use my electric kettle set at 140* and let the little keg float in there for about 15 minutes?

I'm not sure that 140 is going to do it for you. I've seen 190 for 10 minutes, or 170 for 20, but that is for bottles.
 
you tried? I'm thinking of pasteurize the keg to sweeten Malzbier
