How much belgian syrup should I use in my beer? I am shooting for a 9 percent or so final abv. I only have experience using hard belgian crystal packets. I am trying to get as much alc boost from the syrup as a would a packet of hard candi. Northern brewer website says 1/4 to 1 cup of the stuff...

whats your recipe? How much you have to add is going to depend on the starting gravity before the addition of your syrup.

I believe candi syrup has a SG contribution of 1.038 ppg. Which means for every pound you add to a gallon of water you get a .038 increase in SG. I think those bottles are 1.5lbs. 1.5x38=57/5gal= 11.4. In other words, in 5 gallons it should increase SG by 0.0114 for every bottle of syrup.
