Anyone know of a source for probes that will work with the STC-1000?
I don't have the STC, I've got a Dwyer/Love, but probes are easy to make.
two thin wires from your controller, soldered onto one of these(568-1003-ND) (99 cents) (skip the middle leg)
from Digi-Key , a little insulation to prevent the wires from touching, and drop it into a hobby-shop brass tube, seal both ends with epoxy
(or get a beautiful SS one from Brewer's Hardware).
Here is some more info from Ibanous on the probe itself.

He lists Digi-Key Part Number BC2647-ND

I bought a few SS probes last year for my STC-1000s, as I wasn't a fan of the rubber probe. I believe this is the exact one, which is even threaded: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Air-Water-T...ultDomain_0&hash=item19d23d5e1d#ht_1628wt_689
What you want are 10K ohm NTC sensors (NTC = Negative Temperature Coefficient).
Glad I could point ya in the right direction. Now if digi-key would only offer first class usps shipping for 2 bucks on a 1oz probe we would be set
This was in the STC-1000 thread. Looks like a better solution to me:

Thanks to Ibanous for the great info and taking the time/effort/money to test these things out! Guys like him that make this forum what it is today!
Hope your build goes as planned helibrewer (my stc-1000 should be here friday)!
Have a great weekend.
