- Tasting Notes
- In your face Citra aroma and flavor without the extreme bitterness.
Just cracked my first bottle of this one and figured it was worthy of a recipe post. This one turned out to be summer pale I was looking for. It's an easy drinking summer brew with loads of hop aroma and flavor, yet the bitterness remains balanced (love the hop bursting). Sure is a nice way to spend six ounces of Citra.
Grain Bill
5 lbs 2 row
4 lbs white wheat
1 lbs Munich 10l
6 ounces Honey Malt
6 ounces carapils
4 ounces rice hulls
Mash at 152 with 4 gallons strike. Single batch sparge with 5.5 gallons of 185 water. I can only speak for my system which has a very high boil off rate(2 gallons per hour). You'll need to adjust your sparge and mash water for your system.
Hops schedule
15 minutes .75 ounces Citra
10 minutes .75 ounces Citra + 1/2 whirlfloc tablet
5 minutes .75 ounces Citra
1 minute .75 ounces Citra
Flame out 1 ounce Citra
Dry hop 2 ounces Citra
