I am new to brewing and very interested in in brewing from scratch not using extracts and so on where can I find good reliable information on how to go about this and what equipment I need to do so?

Pick up Charlie Papazian's book, The New Complete Joy of Home Brewing. It goes from simple extract brews through all-grain brewing.

This website also has some good pics for illustrating what's going on and what equipment could work. http://cruisenews.net/brewing/infusion/

There are several ways and a variety of equipment for each part, though.

Cheers

Palmer's "How to Brew" is all I read when I started all grain brewing and, frankly, I think it's all anyone needs to read to be a great all grain brewer.
