Hey guys,
I was just wondering about something. I brewed Wed night.

An extract stout:
3.3 lbs LME
5 lbs DME
2 oz cascade hops
1 lb specialty grains
2 oz black patent
dry yeast - rehydrated with a little bit of DME to start.

Its only bubbling about once every 4 seconds and hasn't done any faster than that at all. With two days in the carboy am I OK to give it a good shakey shake? Would that help it along??

Once every four seconds is fine. I use dry yeasts and most of my ferments are in this range.

Is it possible that the fermentation rate peaked during one night? and now it has slowed to 4 seconds?

yea, i'd let it ride too. just let it work and finish out. if it takes a day or two extra, no worries.
