Tasting Notes
A pale ale with just the right amount of Rye to create a unique spiciness.
When I first started brewing, Brewer's Best Rye Pale Ale extract kit was one of my all-time favorite beers. When I went all-grain it took me a few batches to perfect a version I was happy with. I prefer to first wort hop this beer, and not dry hop it. I've included the original hop schedule as an option.

I call my version Red Rye'Der"

8lb 2 row pale
1lb 8oz Crystal 20L
1lb Rye, Flaked
10oz Honey Malt
4oz Munich Malt
2oz Vienna Malt

Mash for 90 minutes at 154 degrees.

First Wort Hop 0.5oz Cascade
60 min 1oz Centennial
15 min 0.5oz Cascade

Optional Brewer's Best original hop schedule"
boil 60 min 1oz Centennial
boil 15 min 1oz Cascade
boil 5 min 1.5oz Willamette
dry hop 7 days 2oz Cascade

I have been getting 83% mash efficiency and 80% yeast attenuation so the gravities and alcohol will vary on your setup.

6.5% abv 199 calories/12oz bottle

Cheers!

Made another batch over the weekend. I used a starter based on a washed batch of Safale 05... and it's a BLOWOUT!
