Motorized Mill, Re-purposing a paper shredder

I know this is probably a one off type build but I thought I would share it anyway. I had a paper shredder that I hated so rather than throwing it out, I cut it in half. I elected to keep the shredder housing cause it made it easier than fabricating some motor holder. The shredding drives just happen to be a 10mm six sided bolt pattern so I drilled out a 10mm socket and put it on the barley crusher drive. The gearing turned out to be great turning at about 120 rpm. Its a little slower than hooking up my drill but it worked great on its first test run.

Time will tell. It actually doesnt seem to strain as much crushing grain as it does paper. Thats why I took it apart, it sucked as a paper shredder. I think its less strained now because it doesnt have to turn two drive shafts.

I think I have a shredder that I don't use anymore. Now I know what to do with it.
