So laying it all out to start several carboys of mead. Just got the 5 gallon bucket of honey open and was ladelling it into the funnel. Sat the bucket on the scale to see how much I had added so far, and son of gun -- my temperature controller hops right into the dang honey bucket. And it was plugged in. Unplugged it right away but dang it made a mess, honey on the carpet -- yah that's not going to come out.

Being an old country boy, when you said "honey bucket" I thought of something totally different. Does not sound like fun cleaning up, but a lot better cleaning up sweet honey than pig $hit honey.

Haha yes not that kind of honey bucket.

Well I can report anyway that the Johnson Controls 419 temperature controller is not only water resistant - it is also honey resistant! I just rinsed it off with hot water keeping any openings in the case pointed downward, and she cleaned right up nice.
